If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Information-Counselling and Legal Assistance Technical Assistance to join our team in Jos, Plateau State. You will assist in the day-to-day implementation of ICLA project activities.

Qualifications

Professional competencies

  • Degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, or Social Sciences.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a humanitarian context.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of housing, land and property and dispute resolution mechanisms.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Context related skills, knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of the context in Plateau State.
  • Ability to speak Hausa and one additional local language preferred.
  • Candidates from Plateau State preferred.

Additional Information:

Duty Stations: Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria

Duration of contract: 10 months (Renewable).

Grade Level: Grade 4 in NRC’s grading structure.

Reporting line: ICLA Coordinator

Travel: 70%

Generic responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Implement delegated CC project portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement

Specific responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing and delivering tasks in line with priorities and standards;
  • Assist in the development and adapting training and information dissemination materials;
  • Contribute to organisational learning through the provision specific technical analysis, lessons learned and reports;
  • Assist in ensuring that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways of assistance;
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on the project activities and ensure compliance with plans and NRC standards;
  • Ensure proper filing of relevant documents according to procedures;
  • Assist in the development of status reports, including documentation of project achievements and deliverables; and
  • Perform any other professional duties as requested by the coordinator and Project Manager.
